Emergency Snow Laborer

Registration is now open for Emergency Snow Laborer positions for the 2022-2023 winter season. Emergency Snow Laborers remove snow and ice from bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants and step streets after heavy snow. Pay starts at $17.00 per hour and increases to $25.50 per hour after the first 40 hours worked in a week.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, apply by scheduling a registration appointment at the closest Department of Sanitation garage. Health and safety protocols will be in effect while at the registration appointment.

To be eligible, applicants must be:

• At least 18 years old
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Capable of performing heavy labor
• Must be vaccinated against Covid-19

To register, workers must have:

• Two small photos (1-1/2 inch square)
• Two original forms of ID, plus copies
• A Social Security card
