The Program Manager will be part of the Business Incentives and Resiliency Unit. Specifically, the Business Preparedness and Resiliency Program (Business PREP) (Business PREP) is an initiative that aims to better prepare businesses for natural or man-made disasters or any other event that might disrupt their business operations. In partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice and other City agencies, SBS is offering community workshops and webinars, on-site risk assessments and post-assessments, and on-line resources to improve the resiliency of businesses and neighborhoods throughout New York City.
As part of the Business PREP team, the Program Manager will contribute to the agency’s efforts to improve the resiliency of New York City businesses. The Program Manager will support the Business PREP team on the following main initiatives:
(1) Workshops and Webinars: Organize business continuity workshops and webinars
(2) Online Resources: Create awareness of the online resources via various marketing tactics and encourage businesses to use it as a trusted resiliency planning tool
(3) Risk Assessments and Grants: Support for business eligibility verification process, pipeline and file completeness management.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Some specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Develop and facilitate webinars and workshops to educate and promote business preparedness and resiliency
•Conduct outreach, identify new partners, build and maintain relationships to meet Business PREP goals
•Support in advancing the implementation of online resources by identifying needs and opportunities for process enhancements and delivering on project milestones
•Provide case management for applicants going through the risk assessment and grant process
•Review business invoices for grant reimbursement in collaboration with the SBS accounts payable team
•Create and maintain complete records of customer accounts, including detailed content on service delivery activities completed and full profile information for the business customer
•Respond to all customer inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner, in accordance with quality assurance best practices
•Track and report workflow and results on a regular basis to the Director of Business Resiliency
•Support the integration of business preparedness best practices into the general SBS services, and other special projects, as needed, to help advance the Agency’s strategic plan
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.
