The Department of Design & Construction, Operations Division seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as the Commissioner’s Driver, reporting to the Assistant Commissioner and the Director of Operations. The selected candidate will serve as the Commissioner’s driver, include keeping the vehicle clean and maintained; drive agency Executive staff as they perform their official duties; assist in developing and coordinating DDC Community Programs such as Ribbon Cuttings and Outreach events; and coordinate with the Commissioner’s executive assistant in regard to the Commissioner’s event schedule. Additional responsibilities include: deliver and pick up mail and packages to and from various locations; assist with loading and unloading materials, equipment, and passengers; and when not driving, the Commissioner’s Driver will prepare trip reports and assist in the Mailroom, Fleet and Facilities when needed.

Requirements Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.
